Whitmore School is offering optional temporary remote learning for students who can be supported with learning at home for the period Nov. 30 to Dec. 18. In-class learning will also continue to be provided at school. As COVID-19 continues to present unique challenges, new changes to the 2020/21 school year calendar were announced on Nov. 9, 2020 by the Province of Manitoba. The following changes will provide teachers additional professional development and collaborative planning time as they work to adapt to student needs due to COVID-19. Schools in MVSD will be closed to students on the following dates for staff PD and collaborative planning time: Thurs., Nov. 26, 2020, Mon., Dec. 7, 2020 and Mon., Feb. 8, 2021. The MVSD Board of Trustees is seeking applications for nomination for the Manitoba School Boards Association (MSBA) Student Citizenship Award. The George Harbottle Memorial Award, sponsored by the Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM), will be selected from amongst the regional MSBA Student Citizenship award winners. Applications must be received by the MVSD Board of Trustees by January 8, 2021. The Board will then nominate one student from our division and submit their name to MSBA.
